How it all started...
Cityview has been a part of this community since 1935. Originally known as the First Pentecostal Church of God, the charter members would gather in a mule barn on the southwest side of Mineral Wells for worship and evangelistic services. Meanwhile, not far down the road, another group began meeting as the First Assembly of God, where they became an officially recognized General Council church in 1947 with 25 original members under the leadership of Rev. E.R. Anderson

Born out of Revival
Following the post–World War II revivals, two growing churches in Mineral Wells—the First Pentecostal Church of God and First Assembly of God—expanded their ministries and facilities under faithful leaders like Rev. Carl Word and Rev. J.A. Maxwell. Over the decades, both churches pursued the mission of Jesus and raised up new generations of ministry leaders. In 2010, after years of shared history and deep spiritual roots, the two congregations came together to form Cityview Community Church—a unified, Spirit-filled church committed to reaching the lost, making disciples, and serving the people of Mineral Wells and beyond.
Where we are headed...
In June 2024, Chris and Amber Snow became Lead Pastors of Cityview Community Church, continuing a legacy of ministry that has shaped Mineral Wells for generations. With deep roots in the community and a passion for reaching the lost, they lead Cityview forward in its mission to make disciples and share the hope of Jesus. As a church with a strong history and an even greater vision for the future, we’re committed to being a light in our city—impacting families, schools, workplaces, and beyond with the Good News of a resurrected Christ.
