The story of Jonah is about far more than a great fish. It is the story of a prophet who knew God's voice, believed in God's power, but struggled to obey God's call.

When God commanded Jonah to go to Nineveh and warn its people of coming judgment, Jonah ran in the opposite direction. Yet God pursued him through a storm, a great fish, and ultimately a second chance. After Jonah finally delivered God's message, the people of Nineveh repented, and God showed them mercy.

Surprisingly, Jonah was not pleased. He wanted judgment, but God desired redemption. Through Jonah's anger, God revealed an important truth: God's compassion extends far beyond the people we think deserve it.
